Sass Pordoi sightseeing and trekking

The Sass Pordoi cable car takes you in few minutes from the Pordoi Pass to the summit of Sass Pordoi, where a beautiful view of all the Dolomites is available all around you.

You can get to the summit, perhaps eating at the restaurant, and descend again with the cable car, or you can descend by foot along one of the three following itineraries.

If you descend by foot, plan your trip with one of the many public transportation available, as your arrival point will nt be at the Pordoi Pass, but somewhere else.

The Sass Pordoi is an ideal starting point for hikes to Piz Boe, to the mountain passes Gardena and Campolongo and to Colfosco through the Val Mezdi.

For example you may start from the top of the cable car and walk towards the forcella (gulley) Pordoi (2.829m.) and just after the gulley, at the point where the footpaths cross, turn right to ascend the south west crest to the top of Piz Boe (3152m.). From here the easy return to the refuge Maria where you may rest and eat before descending to the Pordoi pass. Time required approximately 3 hours.

Open from May to October
