Torgnon Aosta Valley

Torgnon

WINTER

Snow-white slopes rich in forests and plenty of sun. Situated in the best sun position of all the Matterhorn Valley, Torgnon has the chance to be in such a place where the sun is quite common for many hours a day during the winter season.

Sport

In this pleasant area you can find also very good skiing opportunities thanks to one cable-car, 4 ski-lifts, and one chair-lift that allow you to reach the 2100 meters of the top. The downhill skiing courses are for any level of skier as well as the tracks for cross-country. These last ones are the longest of the all valley and give you the chance of choosing between long, till 20 km, and short rings starting from 2 kilometers long.

Nature

The cross-country tracks wind through deep woods and bring you in unforgettable and delightful places where to enjoy the Matterhorn's great charme.

SUMMER

Situated on the right hand side of the Valley, at around six kilometers from Antey and approximately at 1500 meters on the sea level, it counts 22 small lovely villages. Thanks to the "Col St. Pantaleon", a gorgeous place with an unforgettable view of the Matterhorn, it is connected with the central valley.

Nature

The rich wood present everywhere in the valley and the charming green meadow make a puzzle of ravishing attractiveness in a mountain environment where traditional agriculture activities, tourism and care for nature live together in a great respect of each other. Quite frequently, walking along the high paths, you can see the more famous and well known alpine animals and flowers.

Art and history.

A Holy Art Museum, prepared on the parish church, shows a rich wooden cross of the XVI th century. Very interesting the small chapels of each village, too.

Sport and free time

Here you can skating, playing tennis or bowls, taking pleasure from the local traditional sport called "palet". Many itineraries start since the pic-nic area and you can enjoy them on foot or by mountain-bike.
